When Scott Macklen learns he is marked for death by Harry Boggs, the man in cocaine in the San Fernando Valley, his first thought is to slip past the man's defenses and take him off. But this is not only inappropriate, it would likely be fatal, as Boggs has an army and millions to feed it.
Instead, Scott gathers a small team of specialists and begins destroying chunks of Boggs' $200 million financial empire. He is counting on the man's paranoia, on his near psychotic rages, to bring illegal action upon which waiting authorities can act.
But despite good success, Scott seems unable to shove Boggs into a foolish move. Still, he has no choice. He must continue to attack, to find some way to force Boggs into the arms of the law. He's got to make it happen. Or die.
One mistake is one too many when there's no second chance.

From A Review
If this book does not get your adrenalin pumping, I don’t know what
will. It is well written and fast paced. The action only takes temporary
breaks. Does good win over evil in this tale? You will want to read it to
find out.
Bob McElwain introduces the action in the first couple of pages and
keeps it going until the very end. He even keeps a surprise or two for the
end. Lethal Wind is a good read for anyone looking for action and
adventure.

Lethal Wind kind of got out of hand. I loved doing the research. Then one slick event led to another. And soon I had a tale that is too long.
While the actions the hero takes are reasonable, and he is certainly capable of executing each effectively, the sheer number of such "adventures" makes Scott Macklen a bit too much; nobody could survive such a succession of high risk ventures.
Still, I remain fascinated by who Scott is. And I love his partner, Wendy Katlan. Further, the supporting cast is uniformly good.
So while I feel it's a bit long, those who like characters and action will thoroughly enjoy this tale.
