"A mystery so twist-filled, you’ll be kept guessing until the very end." --- ForemostPress.com

Bob McElwain's aptly-named eighth novel, Blowback, is a tale of unexpected and unanticipated results from earlier events. Setting up a cozy feeling on the first page, then suddenly blowing it to hell, sucks you in and grabs hard.
Dr. Wade Turklen, an internationally acclaimed physicist and Nobel Prize winner, is reading in his favorite chair before the fireplace. When the doorbell rings, his daughter comes down the stairway, thinking it's her date for the school dance. His wife opens the door and in burst three armed young men. With a bullet ripped into his chest, Wade is left for dead. His wife and two daughters are brutally assaulted and murdered.
Grief stricken and recovering in the hospital, he realizes it may not have been a random attack. He may have been the target; his family killed only to hide that fact. And if he was the target, he's still a marked man.
Overwhelmed with hatred, and disillusioned when the FBI and police come up with no leads, he is bent on revenge and decides to take matters into his own hands. The consequences of those actions spin his life out of control. Is he up against more than he can handle?
McElwain vividly breathes life into his cast of characters. They stay in your mind and heart long after you've read the last page. You'll find yourself rooting for Turklen and hoping he'll be able, at last, to rebuild his life.
Another great read in the Bob McElwain tradition.
