Snippet from Book

"Alyssia tells me you are an astronaut. Is this true?"

"Yes. I was sent on a mission to the asteroid belt. Something happened . . . I'm not quite sure what."

Heslod appraised Rory carefully. Finally, he said, "What I'd like to know is how you managed to end up here."

"I wish I knew. I was hoping you'd be able to shed some light on the matter. Alyssia doesn't seem to—"

"It is not Alyssia's place to speculate," Heslod said rather curtly. "You've come from the past. Of that I'm sure."

"What makes you say that?" Rory asked.

"Because the last time anyone was out in space was before the Great War."

"But that just can't be!" Rory muttered. "Alyssia told me the Great War was fought over three hundred years ago. If what you are saying is true, and I have no reason to doubt you, it means I actually did travel into the future!"

About This Great Book

When Rory Colt crashes his spaceship and regains consciousness, he is shocked to discover he has somehow managed to return to Earth. Unfortunately, the world he knew and loved no longer exists. In its place are two dissimilar societies. One is a futuristic world run by hybrids—the other, a society that chooses to live a simplistic life like those in the nineteenth century.

The modernistic society he enters isn't what he expected it would be. While there, he is confronted with the realization that the beautiful woman hybrid who lured him to her side of the demarcation line had no choice but to manipulate him—she is, in fact, being controlled by an omniscient electronic immortal.

To free himself and her people, he must find a way to destroy the fiend. But how does one destroy a creature who lives in cyberspace?

From A Review

Dynamic, distinct and sensual, the story holds the reader's interest chapter after chapter. As a main character, astronaut Rory Colt is believable and sympathetic. A walking anachronism, he is forced to choose between two different worlds, trying to find his place in a new human civilization and preserve his sanity.

From The Author

Two years ago I subscribed to a futuristic magazine. The articles were mostly written by people who based their predictions on some valid assumptions as to what our world would be like five, ten, twenty-five, and fifty years from now. I found it rather interesting that none of them were willing to make predictions past the twenty-first century. This, they claimed, is because scientific advances have become exponential.

After reading numerous articles regarding the changes that would be occurring to our world due to global warming, over-population, and the rapid advances in computer technology, I decided to write a story that takes place over five hundred years from now. I thought that was far enough into the future where readers couldn't prove me wrong.
