Snippet from Book

For several moments Israel did not understand what Major Andre had tried to convey. Staring at the broad Hudson that was at this point like a sea, and at the Vulture riding upon it, the ship seemed like the creation of a seamstress, small and insubstantial, hovering, almost gliding, just off the water.

Then she touched the uppermost leaves of the beech tree in Smith's pasture. Slowly, she moved into the leaves until she was among them. In a moment of revelation that seemed to rise from the river like a whisper, Israel knew what Andre meant.

"Captain Sutherland's dropping down the river. He's giving into their fire."

"Yes," said Andre. "And giving us up."

About This Great Book

Who subverted Benjamin Franklin, Benedict Arnold, and brought everything but the war to a successful conclusion for King George III?

His name is Israel Potter, a great American who happened to be working for British Intelligence. Gone Over is a no-holds barred story of deep cover espionage that has never been told in the way it really happened.

High drama, below-the-belt action, a hidden world of intrigue and a wealth of famous and fascinating characters make this a must-read for every man or woman who thinks they know how freedom was won. And all the things that were lost, never to be returned.

From The Author

We thought the American Revolution was the dullest of all wars, conducted by great men who never descended from the stone pedestals we put them on. Then we began to look at the details that never make the histories or the novels. Yes, these people had the same ideas about life that we have. In the city of Paris at the time of the American Revolution—where some of this story takes place—two of every three children born were illegitimate. What did that mean? Did those statues really move?

Oh yeah, they did.
