Inspector Levent of Istanbul Homicide is on vacation on the Aegean Coast when he's handed a case that will become the biggest of his career. The crime is murder, as usual, but that's just the beginning of this long chase. Killing becomes drug running, which becomes a huge construction scam, which becomes the Deep State that is Turkey's shadow government, which become burnings that become bombings that in the end almost send the entire peninsula of Bodrum up in flames.
But most of all Devil's Feathers is a story of revenge.
Excerpt: [Levent] never would suggest work on holiday except to those people who loved what they did to an unhealthy degree. That was a working definition of Levent.

From A Review
The intrigue and the intricacies of Detective Levent’s investigation held my attention in spite of distractions that periodically kept me away from this solidly written and finely edited book. I returned to the story easily after short periods away, as my interest held the details fresh in my mind. Fine books like this stay with you even when you’re forced to put them down for a time.

I always summer on the Aegean Coast near Bodrum, so I know the place as well as I know Istanbul or America. Almost everything in this book is real except the story itself, and some pieces of that are taken from life, too. Ask around and you'll find it's true.
