Snippet from Book

Ender saw a steady movement from the right rear. The bearded man. He walked with some dignity across the short lawn to the border of flowers that ended at the driveway. He stopped, but with a movement that was like the beginning of more.

"You’re trespassing," Ender said in German. "You and your men will put down your weapons."

Strangely, the bearded man smiled. Although the distance did not allow Ender to see the smile, he saw it clearly. If the man had been watching the sun set, he could not have been more disinterested.

The smile did not die when the man took two steps that brought him into the garage beyond the overhang. As he moved, he slowly raised both arms as if surrendering.

Strange. Slowly, he drew his arms to his chest and pulled the halves of his dark coat aside as if to show he had no weapons, but that lasted only as long as it took to see the vest inside the coat. It was stuffed as if inflated.

It was not body armor. It was the opposite.

This one was loaded for the next world. Slowly, he cocked his head to one side as if to see what was on the other. It took a moment to realize that he was looking into his hand. Something was in it and glowing green. Green for Go.

About This Great Book

When Jason Ender, contract agent for the State Department, is told to bring in the mistress of an international outlaw, he doesn't know his assignment is the beginning of an unstoppable adventure that will cross borders and continents throughout continental Europe and Eastern Turkey.

Ender will find himself transformed from a master of the espionage game into a man whose only course is violent action against the shadowy forces aligned against him.

The circle will not close until the Peacock Angel dangles from a cliff in the Tigris Valley and the last man who claims it follows the Angel down.

Get ready for spine-tingling chills in this roaring sequel to Less Than a Shadow.

From A Review

David Chacko is truly multifaceted. Not every author can pen a contemporary suspense novel as good as he writes Historical. Or vice versa. I read The Peacock Angel right after I finished The Severan Prophecies, and while it took me a few pages to switch gears, i.e. from the Roman Empire to a present-day web of intrigue racing across Europe and Turkey, the tempo of the story, its well-drawn characters and the mystery surrounding an ancient religious icon soon drew me in. I could not come up for air until its satisfying conclusion.

From The Author

The Peacock Angel is the most action-filled book that I've written. The quest for a mystical object that holds the key to a people and a region was the driving force that brought it together.

And, yes, the Peacock Angel is real.
